A spotty youth

Throughout her life, my mother has always had fabulous style. There are photos from when she worked at TAC in Boston, attending fabulous art-world parties, traveling with the Gropiuses (google them if you aren’t in the art world yourself), not to mention when she was in college she was featured in Glamour magazine as “One of the 10 Best Dressed College Girls.”  When I was little there were always wild dinner parties at our house where she’d flounce around in gorgeous fabrics, and then there was the ultimate moment of my life when she just handed me her black Chanel bag saying “black really isn’t my color.”  The woman’s outfits have always been punctuated with two things: leather and leopard.  And yes, it’s always tasteful. Her love of leopard is known by all and it’s something that’s been in my genes since I was a kid.  In our past, it’s been all about the leopard accessories, but now I’m trying to find it in the key wardrobe pieces.  It really is timeless, especially in NYC.   Here is one of my homages to my mother (I’m sure there will be many more to come).

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, we all know this is “in” so this isn’t newsy but I wanted to do an all consuming round-up of my fave “spotty” pieces.
